A lot of people want to know: just what the heck is a “variety band,” anyway?
Well, “variety bands” are groups that play a variety of music. They’re the kind of bands most people want for their weddings and corporate events. Some variety bands specialize in certain eras (“All your favorites from the seventies and eighties!” “Remembering the sixties!” “Today’s hottest hits!”) and some of them specialize in certain types of music (“Fifty years of dance music!” “Soft hits from the sixties through today!” “Classic Rock!” “Mostly Motown!” “Hip-Hop Heaven!” “Beach Party!” ) And some variety bands do it all!
We have variety duos and solo acts, too. Some play acoustically; others are accompanied by backing tracks. Do your guests like to sing along? Some of our guitarists and piano players specialize in just that!
Some variety bands become very popular! People fly their favorite bands across the country for special events. Ever hear a great band at a festival, or maybe at a city street fair, or outside an arena before a big game? Ever think, “Wow! What if we had that band play at our company party?”
